MONDAY, MARCH 26th:

1st, 5th and 6th Periods:

Journal entry today.

Your ENGLISH WORKSHOP homework is due today; “prepositional phrases”; pages 141 and 142; exercises 1 and 2.

1st and 5th Periods:

Review Act 1, Scene 3 and then read Act 1, Scene 4. Go over Mercutio’s “Queen Mab” speech. “Queen Mab” assignment: Choose four short scenes from Mercutio’s speech, illustrate the scene and then write the passage (from one to four lines) underneath the illustrations. The illustrations should be on plain white paper or construction paper, drawn with pencils, or a collage from magazine photos or computer generated. This will be due on Thursday, March 29th.

3rd Period:

Go over vocabulary and iambic pentameter handout. Read and act out Act 1, Scene 5.

6th Period:

SIX-WAY PARAGRAPH.

“Jeopardy Word Game” based on VOCABULARY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT.

Read ENDER’S GAME; page 73; “The End of the World”. ENDER’S GAME’S “Conflict Packet; Activity #14.”


TUESDAY, MARCH 27th:

Vocabulary homework due today; VOCABULARY WORKSHOP; Unit One.


ENGLISH WORKSHOP; pages 157 - 158; exercises 8 and 9; this will be due on Friday, March 30th.

Read ROMEO and JULIET, Act One, Scene 5.

Go over ROMEO and JULIET, Act One handout: vocabulary and iambic pentameter.

3rd Period:

Write short story using participial phrases and five of your Unit One vocabulary words.

Make masks for Act 1, Scene 5; “The Party Scene” in ROMEO and JULIET.
