Week of March 21st, the first day of Spring!

March 21st Schedule
for
9th Grade English

Good morning, scholars. Hope you had a nice, restful weekend and you’re ready to get back to work!

Monday, March 21st:

Today is the first day of expository writing. You will be given some materials to read, answer and then write an essay on. This will occupy us for approximately the next three days.

For homework: Run-on sentences and fragments handouts. We will briefly go over the work. It will be due on Wednesday, March 23rd.

Tuesday, March 22nd:

See above. We will be working on expository writing.

Wednesday, March 23rd:

See above. We will be working on expository writing.
Your grammar homework will be due on run-on sentences and fragments.

Thursday, March 24th:

If all goes according to plan, and it never does - we will begin William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. We will do a fun hour of breaking into “gangs” and screaming Shakespearean insults at each other. We will also find out really interesting factoids about Shakespeare and the impact he had on the English language. We may, if we have time, watch the opening scene of the two R & J films.

Friday, March 25th:

We will begin actually reading and acting out the roles in Romeo and Juliet - for after all, it is a play and plays are meant to be acted. Right?
