We are going to be working on essays this week in preparation for the Cat-6 testing that's coming up soon!
Read Langston Hughes' "Harlem" and Alice Walker's "Women"

Read essay on school uniforms.
Mini-debate.
Analyze the essay.

Tuesday, March 15th:

Vocabulary is due! VOCABULARY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT; pages 31 - 38; exercises 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29.
Go over homework in class.
Journal: Write a short story using ten of your vocabulary words.

Wednesday, March 16th:

Break into groups and analyze grabber, topics and clinchers! for your essays!

Break into groups and make presentations to class.


Friday, March 18th:

Vocabulary jeopardy!
Vocabulary test over pages 31 - 38.
