NOVEMBER 9TH WEEKLY AGENDA FOR 9TH GRADE HONORS ENGLISH

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH:

Work on the Short Constructed Response form for your District Mandated Assessment on Persuasion.
Be sure to include:
The thesis statement (must include the topic of the essay and your position on the topic)
Citation:
This is evidence to support your thesis.
A way to introduce this is: Larry Grover in his article, “Veto on Videos “, states, “__________________.”
OR:
According to researchers at Johns Hopkins Hospital,”______________.”
Use an ellipsis to indicate that you are omitting a word or words.
Your counter claim:
Your opponent’s argument against your position. (It can be as short as one line.)
Your rebuttal of the counter claim:
You can slay the dragon with one well crafted line.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH:
SHORTENED DAY!
Begin work on your essay (your Long Constructed Response) on the District Mandated Assessment on Persuasion. This will be due on Thursday, November 12th.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH:
NO SCHOOL TODAY!

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH:
Finish your essay today and turn in. YOU CANNOT TURN THIS IN LATE!

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13TH:
I won’t be with you today. I will be grading your essay along with other English teachers. We will begin watching THE ODYSSEY in preparation for our voyage with Odysseus.
