1ST, 3RD AND 5TH PERIODS:
Review for Act lll test over ROMEO and JULIET.
6TH PERIOD:
Finish up the personal poem based on “Thumbprint”. Transfer info onto clean white paper and color in hand print outline with concepts and sensory details.
Break into groups of four and read, write down questions and answers, summarize and compile vocabulary words from chapter eleven from ENDER’S GAME.
TUESDAY, MAY 1ST:

1ST AND 5TH PERIODS:
Your vocabulary homework is due today; VOCABULARY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT; pages 90-96; exercises 1-8.
3RD PERIOD:
Your vocabulary homework is due today; VOCABULARY WORKSHOP; Unit Three.
Test over Act lll for ROMEO and JULIET.
6TH PERIOD:
Your Vocabulary homework is due today; VOCABULARY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL; pages 90-96; exercises 1-8.
Write a short story using ten of your vocabulary words.
Compose a test over ENDER’S GAME. Each group composes ten questions and answers over the fist eleven chapters of ENDER’S GAME. Due at end of class.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 2ND:
1ST, 3RD AND 5TH PERIODS:
Begin reading Act lV of ROMEO and JULIET.
Pass out and go over Act lV vocabulary and adjective clauses handouts.
6th Period:
Students will read Chapter 12 in ENDER'S GAME.
THURSDAY, MAY 3RD:
1st, 3rd, and 5th Periods:
Gerund phrases review. Handouts. These will be due on Monday, May 7th.
Read Act lV and work on Act lV vocabulary and adjective clause handouts.
6th Period:
Gerund phrase review handout. This will be due on Monday, May 7th.
Test over Chapters 1 - 11 of ENDER'S GAME.
FRIDAY, MAY 4TH:
1ST, 3RD AND 5TH PERIODS:
Finish reading (I hope!) Act lV of ROMEO and JULIET. Have a short Socratic circle using the characters of Juliet, Romeo, Lord and Lady Capulet, the Friar, the Nurse, Tybalt, and Mercutio.
6th Period:
Short test over vocabulary words from pages 90 - 96 from VOCABULARY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT.
Short Socratic circle using the characters from ENDER’S GAME: Ender, Valentine, Peter, Colonel Graff, Bean, Bonzo, Alai, Petra, and Mazer Rackham. We will break into groups with each group taking turns in the middle where, posing as the characters, they will answer questions asked by the other groups.

ENGLISH WORKSHOP is due today; “gerund phrases”; pages 159 - 160; exercises 10 and 11.
6th Period:

DATEBOOK; pages 61 - 63; “A Poem for Magic”; create a poem for someone you admire using word-sounds and word-images that capture the person visually and aurally.
Read Chapter 10, “Dragon” in ENDER’S GAME.
TUESDAY, APRIL 24TH:
1st, 5th and 6th Periods:
Your ENGLISH WORKSHOP is due; “gerund phrases”; exercises 11 and 12; pages 151 and 152.
3rd Period:
Your Unit Two Vocabulary is due today.

Read Act lll of ROMEO and JULIET. HEADS UP: WHEN WE FINISH ACT lll there will be a wee small test over literary terms, comprehension, characters and vocabulary in Act lll.
