WEEKLY SCHEDULE
FOR
9TH GRADE HONORS ENGLISH
Monday, April 11th:
Read ROMEO AND JULIET! We will work on some handouts for Act 1 over vocabulary and poetry.
We will continue working on figurative language.
We will also work on Queen Mab.
The Queen Mab Assignment: Illustrate four examples from Mercutio’s monologue
about Queen Mab (example: illustrate Queen Mab galloping over courtiers’ knees, galloping over young maidens’ lips, galloping over a parson with a tithe pig’s tail and galloping over a sailor). Under each illustration write the line from the monologue that describes it. This assignment will be due on Friday, April 15th.
Tuesday, April 12th:
Shortened day and earthquake drilll!
Continue working on Romeo and Juliet.
Wednesday, April 13th:
Read Act 1, Scene 5; “The Banquet Scene” Make Masks!
Bring your vocabulary book; assign pages 61 - 68; this will be due on Tuesday, April 19th.
Bring your grammar book; assign pages on subordinate clauses; this will be due on Monday, April 18th.
Thursday, April 14th:
Act out Act 1, Scene 5.
Friday, April 15th:
Wee small test on ROMEO AND JULIET; Act 1: comprehension, vocabulary, etc.

of April 4th
Good morning, scholars! Hope you had a great weekend.
Monday, April 4th:
Hmmm, before we get down to fun with Shakespeare, we need to review the multiple choice questions we took last week.
Fun assignment on Shakespeare Phrases and Words!
Then, we will do a fun game throwing “William Shakesbeare” around while throwing out lines!
We will then read Act 1, Scene 1 of ROMEO AND JULIET. If we have time, we will watch the 1969 version of the play and compare how we did on the first scene with how they did on the first scene.
Tuesday, April 5th:
Shortened day!
Briefly go over the short answer responses from last week.
Go over and collect the vocabulary mini-test. Pass out a handout on “The Sentence Base”; briefly go over it. This will be due on Thursday, April 7th.
