9TH GRADE ENGLISH

MONDAY, APRIL 16, 2007:

1st, 5th and 6th Periods:

Write a short story using your vocabulary words from pages 70 - 77 in VOCABULARY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT.

1st and 3rd Periods:

Read Act Two in ROMEO and JULIET. (Since 5th Period has already finished reading Act Two, we will review in preparation for the Act 2 test.) Heads up: As soon as we finish reading Act Two there will be a quiz over the vocabulary, literary tropes (metaphors, similes and personification), characters and comprehension.

3rd Period:

Write a short story using words from your Unit One vocabulary.

6th Period:

Work on exercises 21, 22 and 23 in your vocabulary book.
Work on ENDER’S GAME “Character Analysis” handout. Read ENDER’S GAME.


TUESDAY, APRIL 17TH, 2007:

1st, 3rd and 5th Periods:

Act Two test over ROMEO and JULIET.

6th Period:

Your vocabulary is due today; pages 70 - 77; exercises 17 - 23 from VOCABULARY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT.
Work on Exercise C in the “Combining Sentences” handouts (“participial phrases”.)
Read ENDER’S GAME.


WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18TH, 2007:

1st and 5th Periods:

Your vocabulary homework is due today; VOCABULARY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT; pages 70 - 77; exercises 17 - 23.


1st, 3rd and 5th Periods:

Go over test for Act 2 of ROMEO and JULIET.
Read and act out Act lll, Scene 1 of ROMEO and JULIET
Pass out vocabulary and grammar handouts for Act lll of ROMEO and JULIET.


6th Period:

Your “Combining Sentences” handouts (Exercises A, B and C) are due today.
Vocabulary test today over pages 70 - 77.
Read ENDER’S GAME.


THURSDAY, APRIL 19TH:
