Monday, August 21st: 

Went to the plant manager’s office to pick up the My Perspective text book.

Passed out “The Sniper” vocabulary packet; went over first three words. Students wrote sentences using the words: enveloped, fleecy, beleaguered, etc.

Finish for homework.

Tuesday, August 22nd: 

Went over vocabulary homework; Vocabulary Workshop; Level C; Unit 1; #1 - 10

Etymology: Latin and Old French

Setting: Dublin, Ireland

The protagonist: the main character whose story we follow and who undergoes conflict which changes him.

Point of view: Whose point of view is the story written from?

IRA stands for the Irish Revolution Army

The sniper is an assassin

Read and finished the story

Readers: Diego, Bianca, Julian, Jonathan, Taylor, Milan, Alejandra, Jose

Do you think the sniper will give up fighting?

Bianca – yes!

Trenton – No! I think the sniper will kill himself

Diego – He will stop for a while and then resume fighting.

Anthony – His family will abandon him!
Lisbeth – He will become even angrier and more of a killer!
