Monday, August 27th:
Read "The Necklace"
Take Notes
Pass out "The Necklace" Vocabulary and Irony Packet
The packet will be due on Thursday, August 30th.

Tuesday, August 28th:
Do improvisations on three types of irony
Break into groups to work on "What Happens Next?"
Starting the scene with the last line of the short story, "The Necklace" continue the story; write a scene which shows what happens after Mathilde runs into Madame Forestier.

Wednesday, August 29th:
Present the scripts.

Thursday, August 30th:
Read "The Gift of the Magi"
Prepare to do a compare and contrast essay on "The Necklace" and "The Gift of the Magi".
"The Necklace" Vocabulary and Irony packet is due today.

Friday, August 31st:
No school!!!!!!
