for 9th Grade English

Tuesday, May 29th:
Shortened day!
1st, 3rd and 5th Periods:
Today we will begin reading our new books.
6th Period:
We will begin working on our essays for ENDER’S GAME. We will learn how to use quotations in a literary essay.

1st Period:
You will break into groups of three; each person will take turns reading; each person is responsible for her/his summary and at least three vocabulary words. In order to get a passing grade for the day, each group MUST read ten pages, have at least three vocabulary words with definitions and at least a half page summary of the reading at the end of class. Each student will turn in his/her own half page summary and vocabulary words to get credit.
6th Period:
Continue working on your essay. It will be due at the end of class.
Friday, June 1st:
1st Period:
Same as yesterday.
3rd and 5th Periods:
Continue reading and taking notes.
6th Period:
Test over ENDER’S GAME.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The last day to turn in make-up work (rewrites for essays and tests) will be Monday, June 4th. After this date no more late work or rewrites will be accepted.
