Tuesday, September 6th:

Journal: Six-Way Paragraph; Passage #2.

Finish working on excerpt from CAT’S EYE. Do preplanning work on writing a three paragraph essay on how Elaine has changed. The final draft will be due on Wednesday, September 7th.

Turn in title of your outside reading book. We will go over how to do reading logs

Assign VOCABULARY FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT; pages 4 through 7. Please write out the entire exercises. This will be due on Monday, September 12th.

Wednesday, September 7th:

Journal: Write a short story using ten of your vocabulary words.
Turn in your “Elaine” essay on Cat’s Eye.
Begin reading “The Sniper” from your anthology book. Do reading logs.


Thursday, September 8th:

Journal: A selection from Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
Continue reading “The Sniper” from the anthology.
Reading logs.

Friday, Septemeber 9th:

Journal: Write a short story using ten of your vocabulary words.
Go over point of view. Break into groups and begin rewriting “The Sniper” from different points of view.

We may also go over grammar if the need arises this week.
